Blueberry Fields Forever

I've had a love affair with the blueberry since childhood. One of my first nicknames was blueberry buns. Blueberries and I had a short lived falling out when I was in middle childhood and was bothered by mushy tartness. Then I discovered the joy of eating frozen berries straight from the freezer. They were a favorite after school snack in high school, along with Nestle Crunch bars melted in the microwave and eaten with a spoon.

I've stopped snacking on melted chocolate bars - why I'm not sure - but blueberries are here to stay. Frozen or not.

Sunday I picked blueberries for two hours. I'm afraid I went a week too early, and I didn't end up with as many as I hoped for. There were so many berries just on the edge of ripening.

Frozen blueberries are the one food I put up that's gone at the beginning of winter. I may just have to go back to the fields next week.

I totally agree with the frozen blueberries. Mix them with a little frozen cool whip and you've got a fabulous treat!

I'd like to hear more about the nickname "Blueberry buns." :o)

You are so creative. Can I come live with you? ;) I just went blueberry picking a few weeks ago and love it. Very fun. I made some delicious blueberry muffins with them.

By the way, I think in your header where you have "take a picture" you should add "it'll last longer."

Remember saying that as a kid!? haha
